I have a 78 Cutlass with a chevy 350v8, and the headers that were on the
car, is melting the #6 sparkplug boot. I have tried re routing the wire
and it does not work. ANy suggestions besides buying a set of new
headers?
THanks

A lot of the GM smog motors from 78-87 had cheesy metal heat shields that attached to the exhaust manifolds. The purpose of these shields was to insulate the spark plug wires from the heat of the exhaust manifold. Perhaps some kind of similar set up will help your problem.
