What the heck is a "spare tail light"?

How much would it have gone for if it had the lens and socket?

You mean there is more than one StudeBob?

An obvious imposter, using Studebob's moniker to sell defective goods to
trusting Stude aficionados.<G>

Jeff, I hope some of what I call common parts, turn out to be rare, my

The right hand tailight was usually an option so he may be referring to it
as a 'spare'. To be honest, I think that one on Ebay is the left side as it
has the licence plate light under it, where the right side would not have
it. A RH taillight was an option into the sixties on big trucks. I was
lucky to get both correct taillights for Big Bertha; the RH side without the
licence plate lens, and a longer wire. I got them from Special Interest
Autos before Packard Farm took over, and the RH side was more expensive the
the LH side probably due to its rarity over the the standard equipment left
hand taillight.

The 'stock' vehicle only came equipped with one tail light (LHS in North
America)
The LHS has the license bracket screw mount holes on the top of the housing
(and the window faces up). I have seen the optional RHS with the window,
but without the screw holes for the bracket. But then again, these were also
used on Dodge vehicles, so they may have an even different configuration.

Yeah, you're right about facing UP on yours. I'm used to Big Bertha's and
later Stude trucks where the licence plate is below the lamp where the clear
licence lens faces DOWN. Dodge and Studebaker shared the same Auto Lamp and
Sparton taillamp housings on the trucks right up until the end.
