Hello,

New 2009 Buick (finally), and the first one I have ever had with a key fob
for the locking and unlocking functions.
Pretty neat.

What I don't like is the ease one can inadvertently unlock the trunk.
Trunk has no key, and can only be unlocked by an inside switch on the door
or the key ring fob.

Guess I'm old fashioned, but an old fashioned key lock on the trunk would
suit me just fine.
Sometimes, I think, the old way is still the best.

Anyway, so far, I've accidentally unlocked the trunk twice by putting
pressure on the fob in my pocket, and having the trunk release fob button
pushed. Sure doesn't take much.
The smart way to design this thing, I would suggest, is for it to take two
pushes, close together in time to do it.
That would solve the problem.

Would hate to have the trunk unlocked while it is in a parking lot, mall,
etc.

Supposed to be a 1 second push and hold to do it, but it works essentially
instantaneously.

Any way of disabling the function from the fob, and just living with
unlocking the trunk with the inside switch ? Or,...?

Anybody else run across this "problem" ?

Thoughts on ?

B.

Yes, it can be a PITA once in a while. At home, I put my keys on a shelf
as soon as I enter the house rather than keep them in my pocket. At work,
they go on my desk. What is even worse, the LeSabre trunk opens completely.
My other car has a third party fob that came with the remote starter. It
takes an extra second to unlock the trunk and it has never given a false
signal. Even if it did, the trunk unlatches but does not lift up so visibly
you'd not know it anyway.

You need to buy a Lincoln! Push the button when it is open, and it closes
automatically Wink
