Post subject: Old Beetle Bodywork estimates
Archived from groups: alt>volkswagen>beetle (more info?)

I have a 1966 Convertible Beetle that I have had for over 10 years
And unfortunately I have never done anything with it and it needs restoring.
I have recently sold my house and decided to sell it Sad
Which is killing me but I know that I will personally get around to buying a
welder and doing the bodywork myself.
Although I am making a considerable amount of money selling my house, and
was actually thinking of having it professionally restored because I can
finally afford it, something I never would have considered until now.

Can anyone give me some guesstimates of what a professional would charge to
fix the usual bad spots on a convertible beetle
You know, floor pans, rust at bottom of door, front and rear apron, etc.
I am sure someone reading this has has it done and could give me an idea of
price.
I really appreciate the input, and might lead me to finally having my 66
vert on 5 lug Empi's I have always wanted.

Also, if anyone has recommendations for a shop near central florida I would
greatly appreciate that as well.
Thanks in advance.
Russell
