Post subject: Anti-lock brakes
Archived from groups: alt>autos>oldsmobile (more info?)

A little whie back I had three warning lights come on simultaneously
in my 2001 Olds Alero: The "Service Vehicle Soon", the "Anti-Lock
Brakes" and the "Trac-off". The brakes work fine (they're fairly new)
and the car drives fine in dry weather, but in rain or snow the car
becomes dangerously unstable. I checked the fuses and they look fine.
I know nothing about anti-lock brakes, so I was hoping someone could
give me a few hints about what to do. Is there a sensor that might
have broke? Where would it be located? Thanks.

From what I've read on these newsgroups the individual wheel speed sensors
quite often cause problems like the one you describe. It's said that most
of the time when this happens the connection at a sensor is loose, damaged,
or corroded. You might have a look at them.
