Go to the climate screen. There are controls other than "auto" and they are
definitely useful, especially in cold climates where minimizing the use of
engine heat maximizes fuel economy. If this is too complicated for you,
just push the "auto" button.

On interstate highways, it becomes very useful when coming into the
'heat island' of a city. Reading the temperature gauge is faster and
easier than sampling current outside temperature with the windows and
much quieter.

When apporaching a city and I notice the temperature is uncomfortable, I
double check the temperature gauge; roll up the window(s); turn on the
AC; and adjust the radio volume. Once I'm leaving the city area, I check
the temperature gauge until it gets comfortable outside again. Then I
flip off the AC; roll down the window(s) and; adjust the radio.

The gauge is much easier than flipping the windows up and down on cross
country trips.

Yes my Son.

Since you find the temperature digits offensive, it is your car. Just
put a piece of electrican's tape over the digits. Alternatively, you
could cut the wires from the sensor and solder a 1.5 kohm resistor on
the ends. It will aways register the same temperature and again, you'll
no longer be offended.

The Heavanly Hosts pray for your happiness and we will all rejoice when
you report that your temperature guage not longer offends thee.

This is the sort of thing you will understand as you mature. If you mature.

I do very well, thank you. Judging from your harangue, I presume you are
off your meds.

We look forward to hiding or disabling your temperature gauge and remove
a temptation.

I've yet to hear anyone speak on Usenet. Do you use a text-to-speech
translator and if so, shouldn't it put words in your ears?
