Worn clutch or posibly a problem with the clutch slave or master. Sounds
like the clutch is not disengaging entirely.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I would bleed the clutch first. Air in the system could cause your
problem. Does it also have a problem if you try to put it in second gear
instead of first?

Just a thought - have you verified the gearbox lube level is up to normal?
It does sound like a worn sychro, but low oil level can imitate that.

a mechanic told me that but i hadnt had a chance to do it, but sometimes
when i throw it in 2nd after 1st it doesnt go in all the way either and it
will grind, but if i am sitting there sometimes i cant put it into 3rd
either. But then again most of the time its sooth going into the gears this
happens maybe 2 out of 10 times. But still not normal.
