I think this a safety feature to bring you back to the legal limit.

Actually my cruise control also slowly reduces the speed; it would be nice
to know why?
I use it mostly in France since they got paranoid about people exceeding the
speed limit on the private toll roads; which logically should not be police
controlled.

BTW, does the 70 mph speed limit apply to the M6 bypass toll road? I have
been on it a couple of times and at 80mph I seem to be one of the slowest!

i have the same problem with my 83 S...
i used the crise control for the first time this week on the M5...
set it at 140kph and she will drop steadily over the miles to 120 and lower
the taco also reads round the 200 when she is at 800...

just wasn't really that bothered as i never use the cruise
and the idle is fine...
