Fuel injected engines have a "cold start" system that adds a bit of fuel
during cranking and the first few seconds of running. This is probably
not working correctly in this instance and the engine is starved of fuel
during cold starts. Repairing this shouldn't be expensive but do first
ask for an estimate.

Had same problem. Caddy changed out the fuel pressure regulator for $170 but
that wasnt it. Could have done it myself for $57 and 10 minutes time. Caddy
says the regulator diagpham goes bad and fuel bleeds back to tank. After
caddy told me it was the fuel pump and would cost $800. I bought the
pump for about $250 from NAPA and installed it myself in about an hour and
car runs great and more pickup. No more hard starts.
