Post subject: 97 ranger with HEAT problem

Hello,
I'm new here and I did a search but I was unable to find an answer. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question: I am car-ignorant. Every time I turn my AC on, all i get is hot air. Even when everything is turned off I get a substantial amount of heat coming up from the floor boards. When I try and use the fan for outside air, i get heat. When I turn the heater on, i get hotter heat. It is almost as if the dial with the blue and red gradient was stuck on red (even when it is on blue).

I'm a poor college student, any cheap way to fix this?

Thanks

theres no-way around having to pay for parts, but it sound like your heater core is broke, or the switch in the dash board is broken. You could take your car to firestones and let them tell you whats wrong with it and then fix it yourself. or roll the window down. As for the AC you probably need refrigerant
