94 Galant with a strange problem

Got this car at auction. Barely would do 20 mph and ran like crap. Someone before me had put a NEW distributor in it, new plugs and wires, fuel filter and fuel pump trying to figure out the problem. I replaced the TPS, but no difference there. Then replaced the throttle body and it ran great! My wife has been driving it for the past 3 days with a round trip of about 70 miles each day. Today she is on the way home from work and it just quits like it ran out of gas. She gets it restarted and gets to a gas station (fuel guage was just above empty) and puts gas in it. Starts off for home and gets about 1/2 mile and it quits again. She stops and restarts 4 times before getting it home (about 4 miles from the first time it quit). I get home about an hour later and drive it all over for about 20 minutes with no problems. Later on tonight we get in it to go visit her parents and it gets about 2 miles from the house and it quits on me. I go to restart and it is like it is out of fuel. Won't even act like it wants to run. I did this about 10 times (attempting to restart) and it finally does. Pull out on the road again and make it about a quarter mile and it stops again. Same thing. Will not restart right away. I went through this about 3 more times and finally got to her parents house and left it running while we were there for about 15 minutes. We get back in to head for home and as soon as I pull out it stops again. Another 10 minutes before it will start again. Same process as before trying to get home. An hour later we finally get it in the driveway.

When it shut down, I could hear some kind of relay in the passenger compartment clicking on and off. I am thinking either the ECU or TCU. Anyone have any ideas? I am ready to scrap this damn thing but have too much money in it now. Will be trying to get it right and dump it on someone else for the next whatever that decides to go wrong with it.
