my first thought would be a cold solder joint on the cluster board. I don't
know what the Caravan cluster looks like but I do know it is pretty common
on the Neons. When the solder joint is cold it is making electrical
contact. When current is put through the circuit it will expand due to
heat. When it heats and expands it will disconnect long enough to cool down
then it will make contact again and work until it heats up again. repeat
