91 Laser TCU Location?

My 91 Laser, 1.8 non turbo automatic tranny has had the tranny limping
along in 3rd gear for several weeks. I'm trying to locate the TCU
transmission computer.

I've found the ECU in the center of the console under the dash under the
radio but still looking for the TCU. Some say its above the ECU while
I've heard it could be behind the glove compartment. Any clues?

Found It!
After asking around and geting a different answer from each person I
asked, I found 2 smaller trim panel covers near the front of the
console, one on each side, removed those, pulled back the carpet on the
passenger's side and found the TCU horizontal along the top of the
middle hump from about below the radio to the firewall.

Its about the same size as the ECU which is vertically mounted.

One 12mm nut closer to the radio and two nuts along the firewall.

To visualize it, put your hand or fist along the right side of the gas
(accelerator) pedal, the TCU is just to the right of your hand.

Opened it up and it was smoked. A few burnt components and a bubble on
the chip.
