It is always nice to have those deadly gasses going out of the rear of the
Golf instead of near the doors. Cough Cough.
I vote you either clamp it down or have it welded up so the exhaust fumes
stay away from you.
Now if the exhaust is sealed properly and it is not clogged then you might
have other issues that you need to address.
When finished you will probably have more power and better fuel mileage.
The mufflers can clog up if the catalytic converter breaks up and its guts
go into the muffler clogging it.
