Post subject: '89 Ford Probg GT Turbo - stalls at low RPM

I have just finished rebuilding the engine on my '89 Ford Probe GT (bought it with a warped cylinder head). The engine runs, but has to be kept above 1500-2000 RPM or else it will stall. I believe this could be a combination of old, contaminated gas and a bad position of the distributor. What do y'all think?
