88 Festiva radio problems

My radio cuts out most of the time- display will light up, then go out with a loud noise. When it does work, the speakers are okay, but probably could be replaced. It's a factory installation, and just the basic model. Need to know if the radio's worth fixing, or better to just find another.
Or, does anyone have an original one that they've replaced and would like to get rid of ??

Any help is greatly appreciated. I love my Festiva. Just broken in at 139,000 miles.
