I need to replace the speedometer cable, so I have no odometer, so I have
no way of telling what kind of economy I'm getting. I was figuring ~14 MPG
with the roof removed.

We played a gig Saturday, and I had just filled the tank, so I used
Mapquest to figure the mileage. Using the 'remove' feature for roads not
taken, it actually came up with the routes I took down and back, and comes
to 85+ miles. When I got home I filled it, and discovered with the roof
off I got 21.36 miles for the round trip. Much better than I had
anticipated, and right on the money for what owners of this model car have
been reporting.

I would guess with the roof on the mileage would be better, since you
don't have massive amounts of air trapping themselves in the hatch.

Hmmm...perhaps I'll keep it after all!

What is that feature. I can't find it on the Mapquest site.

Got to Mapquest, enter and address, and when the map comes up click
"Directions to" or "Directions from". You'll be presented with a set of
directions. In my case they did the obvious and put me on Route 91. To the
right there is an option marked "Avoid" (sorry, I thought it was "Remove"...)
Click Avoid and it will replot your directions using a different route.

I did it again just now. I had to click "avoid" about 7 times to get it to
the route I took, but it worked!

Two of the legs of today's 'journey' were exactly the way I had driven
them!
