Post subject: 88 Honda Accord Fuel Problem

I have a honda accord manual transmission with carburater. It revs up good when in neutral. When i put it in first, then second and ride for a minute it looses fuel, I switch to third and push harder and the car gets no gas at all. Its starts jumping non-stop until i release the pedal, one time it cut completly off. And when i turn it off, it sounds like its poppin popcorn. Can someone help me out on this?
