We just bought this truck and it drove home okay and then the next day
while driving it, it would just shut off, no warning at all. after a while
it will start up again but after driving for a while again it will shut
off. I replace the coil and module but it is still doing it. can anyone
tell me what else it could be.

A plugged gas tank vent can act like that. It puts a vacuum on the gas
tank causing the engine to starve for fuel, then allows it to run again
in a few minutes after the vacuum has dissipated.

The filter is about $2.00 and sits on the bottom of a charcoal canister
usually.

Quick test for that is next time it stalls, open the gas cap and see if
it starts right back up.

Just FYI, electronic stores also sell a freezing spray you can use on
parts like the coil or ignition module to see if heat failure is
happening rather than toss part$ at it.

You might want to look at the condition of the distributor pickup and shaft,

you'll see a gummy substance on the rear edge of the star tipped points on
the distributor shaft, if the shaft magnet failed, or you might see a crack.

If you look at the metal cap over the pick up at an angle, you might be able
to see the wound coil deteriorating.

I hope this helps.
