Is there an easy way to change out the fuel pump?

yeah, take out ur seats, remove the carpet, use a circular saw and be very
careful and cut a hole in the floor right above the tank , just dont cut the
fuel lines.

Very bad advice. Dangerous, stupid, and wrong.

Just drop the tank. pull the sending unit, if it's too heavy drain the
tank before installing the new pump. Then you can refill the tank after
it's back in the van.
