OK fellas, don't everyone laugh at the same time, but I have a friend who
wants a complete 53 or 54 front clip in decent shape. We are talking all
sheet metal, grill and including hood. Not front half of frame as some
people interpret front clip. Can pick up at York or can be shipped and he
will take care of all arrangements for shipping or if within reasonable
driving distance he will pick up.

Here's a way to go, might be cheaper in the long run.

I wonder what the reserve is on that? It can't be worth much more.

Just listed a whole bunch of parts. Sorry, didn't notice your post
until afterwards. Here is a link to my Ebay listings. There is a set
of grilles, upper panel, and lower panel. I also have a good hood, the
grille insert bars, and latchplate. I'm parting out a '53 Commander
Hardtop. I'm in California-Will

I dunno, would make a neat base for a street rod. Just drop the body on
a Super Hawk chassis and have a big ol' smile on your face.

I've got a spare 56J dash laying around that would look sweet in there,
too...

I believe your dash switch panels are for a '53 Commander, not a '54.
The '54 has the "built in" end pieces (like the complete '54 dash you
have listed). On the '53, the end pieces were seperate. Another way to
tell is the switches. The '53 switches are round toggles while the
'54's had a rather flat toggle.
