A friend here in the Puget Sound area needs a decent used radiator for
a '49 Commander. Doesn't have to be a great one, just usable. Anybody
got one for sale?

How much of a radiator does your friend currently have? If the tanks
are good or even mostly good a radiator shop can recore it so that it
will cool much better than a stock one. I need to do the 54s this
summer and It has numerous tank cracks and the boys at my local rad
shop have already looked it and ar confident that they can put my old
tanks on a new 3 row core for $350. And Im in Yakima.

Someone stole his radiator while he was doing an engine exchange. I'm
sure it went straight to a metal salvage place. He looked, but never
found it.

I don't want to rain on your parade on the 3 row radiator replacement but I had
a 4 row high efficiency core installed on my '55 tanks for $255 so shop around.
I guess things are cheaper in mid-america. The core was built
by Great Lake - Thermasys at 8700 Belleville Road in Belleville, MI 48111.
Their phone number is (734) 697-5001 ask for Angie Knight.

Around here there aint to many places that do good work plus the tanks
on the rad in the 54 really need work. They will have to solder in
extra metal to reinforce the splits.
