Peugeot 406 2.0 auto LX philips radio

The above car is fitted with a philips Radio.
The radio was found to be dead after purchasing the car.I have replaced the Fuse on the back of the radio.Now there is some life in the Radio the front opens and it now takes a tape and ejects it but there is no other life like noise from the speakers.

Cant see where the diplay is for the radio.
There is a hole like a holder for coins on the dash above the hazard lights buttons.But it does not look like a display just a holder for small items.

Will the diplay light up before the security code is entered or are you ment to press the security button and then enter security code and radio will come to life.
Any help much appreciated
