Have experienced problems when first starting up in mornings. Engine runs
roughly and white smoke from exhaust for 1-2 minutes. What is the cure?
Any ideas?

One glowplug out. Have them all replaced. (With decent ones 'cos cheap
patterns will last no time)

Thanks for your help Dave K but dont think it is glow plugs as it starts
first time every time - just the first few minutes of running that are
rough. Any other suggestions?

That is exactly the symptom of one glowplug being out, check there
resistance, it is given in another post somewhere on this board I think.
It will start ok, but unless you idle it for about 10seconds or more, it
will be very reluctant to accelerate, due to low heat on one cylinder.
