After having been unused for two years while restoring the car, time has
come to take it out into life again. However, upon test driving the
brake failure light went off. I cannot find anything faulty with the
brakes, but can a jammed main brake cylinder (master and/or slave
cylinder) make the switch flip? And if the balance in the two circuits
is restored, does the switch reset itself or do one have to do that
manually? I remember having read about this way back, but can't remember
how it was. I hope someone can shed a light on this!

Johan

All sorts of things can cause the switch to trip. IIRC you take the cap off
the end and push the piston back, it's been a while since I've messed with
it though.
