20k for a '52 chevy

hi all.
i'm located in italy but i'm fascinated by american hot rods.
i found a rebuilt '52 chevy convertible that seems to be in great
conditions and is being sold at a reasonable price. reasonable means
that the price is lower than the maximum i can pay for my second car.

before talking of buying that car (a friend of mine has a girlfriend
in pennsylvania that would buy the car for me and ship it to italy)
i'd like to know what things usually you should have a look at when
you buy an old restored car.

i have some pictures, but no more than this. the actual owner (that is
the person that did the work on the car) says the car runs great and
that everything is ok. the car won many awards but has a few small
blemishes (i don't even know what this means).

the body has been completely repainted with a nice metallic red/orange
color and the soft top is ivory.
all of the inside has been rebuilt.

consider i don't mind *at all* if the inside is or is not similar to
the original one.

should the car be in great shape, is 20k a good quotation or is it too
high?

paint discolorations, nicks, scratches etc.

in my opinion, it should be perfect, but a stock/factory 52
isnt that desireable, 20K?? way too much unless shipping is
included as that will cost $3-5K.

a 55, 57 or 58 would be worth that much.
