I had hoped that my 206D with 90,000 mls on the clock that I've had from new
(Dec2000 X reg) would last me another 5 years at least. My normal garage
told me they couldn't repair the Suspension radius arm bearings at it needed
a specialist Peugeot tool. The Peugeot dealer has quoted me £1100 quid as
both sides have gone and so has the axle.

Value is £1200.

Any suggestions as to my options greatfully appreciated.

I'm afraid changing a fuse is my limit on a car. The problem is the non
Peugeot garage say they can't do it that it has to be done by a Peugeot
dealer.

I think this is the place that Chris had in mind but they only actually
mention rear suspension. Having said that, a phone call is not expensive
and they may well know somebody who does front ends if they don't
themselves.

These are the people - http://www.sspengineering.co.uk/ .

I can heartily recommend them from personal experience. If you drive down
there (by appointment) they will fit a reconditioned supension in a couple
of hours or so.

A local garage I hadn't been to before has recommened findapart.com to get
the axle and then they'll fit it.

FindaPart deal with breakers so you will be getting a used unit. Could be
OK but you could also be no better off after a while. Good luck anyway.
