Hello,

Happy holidays to everyone.

New 2009 Buick LaCrosse.

a. Have looked in the manual, but just can't seem to find where it
talks about it.

There is a red LED that blinks whenever I leave the car and lock it with the
fob.
This is the one that is by the radio.
What does it signify ?

b. There is also another LED, apparently, on the top of the dash,
right by the front glass window and the light sensor (I think that is
what it is).

This LED, I believe, is to indicate when the "Content-Theft" option is
enabled. True ?

I do have it enabled, from the DIC, to the best of my knowledge.
But it never, ever, blinks on.
I use my key-fob/RKE Trans. to lock the doors when I leave.
Have checked, and also reset it several times.
On the DIC Menu it seems to show that this option is set and enabled.

Any idea why it never seems to blink or work ?

From the Manual: "Arming with the RKE Transmitter:
The alarm system will arm when the RKE transmitter is used to
lock the doors after the key is removed from the ignition. The
red light, if your vehicle has one, will come on to indicate that
the system is arming. After all doors are closed and locked, and
after a time delay, the red light, if your vehicle has one, will
begin flashing at a very slow rate to show the system is armed.
Arming Confirmation:
Your vehicle may have a red light located on top of the
instrument panel, towards the center of the vehicle and near the
windshield, that will flash slowly to confirm when the system
is armed.

BTW: might anyone know know the difference/functionality between the
"normal Traction Control System", and the "Enhanced Traction Control
System" on new Buicks ?

Thanks,
B.

Suggest you go back to dealer and ask about functionality. They should
have asked if you had any questions after they showed you how things
operate.

On my 2008 Enclave, if I sit in the drivers seat with the window down
and lock it with the fob, there is a yellow symbol in the speedometer
window (which is tough to see from outside the car) indicating that
the car will be armed shortly. When the light goes out the car is
armed.

I can then test the alarm by manually unlocking the door and reach
through the window to the door handle and open the door. That will
sound the alarm. The alarm can be turned off by unlocking the doors
with the fob. On my vehicle, when the alarm is set, there is no light
indicating the status of the alarm (at least I could not find one).

You might try that to see what indicator lights you might have.
