I'm in the market for a mid-sized SUV and, among other brands, I'll be
looking at the 2008 Highlander which I understand has been redesigned.
Anyone have any experience with that unit that you can share?

Thanx

I am pretty sure that most have seen my posts on my 08 'lander. I had an 02
that had about 70k on it when I got the 08 in July.

Ours is the AWD Limited. I've just over 6k miles on it. I recently drove
it on the same trip I did several times with the 02. 08 much better in all
respects. My butt didn't feel near as fatigued. I get a good mile or more
better around town (usually about 17.2-17.5) and depending on length of trip
about 1-2.5 mpg better than epa says. it is fairly well loaded. Maybe not
quite at "taut" a ride as the 02 but much more comfortable. The electric
steering coupled with low profile 19" tires makes steering pretty touchy but
it is fine now that I'm somewhat used to it.

I'd like to see the seats "cooled" like our Avalon (its HOT here in Redding,
Ca in summer) as well as I'd like the LED turnsignals in the outside mirrors
like the Avalon.

Basically a fine fit for my usage.

2008 Highlander Thoughts? - Anyone have one? What are the negatives of this vehicle. I'm trying to decide between this and a Mitsubishi Outlander (at a lower price...) Any legitimately honest thoughts welcome. All non-honest thoughts won't be paid for. <G> Joe in Nort...

2005 Highlander - Does anyone know if the spare tire on the 2005 Highlander is an actual 5th wheel or a donut? If it is an actual 5th wheel, is it on a aluminum alloy rim or a steel rim? Thanks, Matt

Highlander third row - Hi all - My wife and I looked at Highlanders this afternoon. I read the third row was a bit useless. I dunno. Seems like that was an understatement. Honestly, it looked bad. That third row struck me as heavy duty cardboard with stadium cushions..

08 Highlander - Mine came in and I took delivery last night. Barely driven it but did get the bluetooth working for cell phone. (Works fine) The backup camera is a good touch, I've a few small kids in the area that zoom into the drive on bikes or skateboards and..

Highlander Tune Up - Noticed we're not getting the gas mileage we used to on our 2001 Highlander. My wife thinks it needs a tune up. What's involved with doing this myself? The dealer charges way too much. I know it's gotta be more the filter, plugs and wires.
