Duh, I believe you are missing the point once again in your zeal
to be heard on any subject. The original post was about not
believing everything one hears and that was that there WILL be a
2005 Taurus. Minor upgrades and lower price and all. Minor
changes year to year are not unusual among manufactures when
there is not a major model change.

What's really remarkable is that Ford could find any more places to
cut costs from the Taurus. ;^) Or are some longstanding essentials
now becoming "options?"

After almost twenty years of production? Economies of scale, the
same thing that makes it possible for Toyota
to sell cars in ten countries, at ten different prices. You
would be surprised to discover how mush it actually costs to
build a vehicle.

How mush does it cost to build a vehicle, anyway? <!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: 2005 Avalon |

Agree completely.
Some cars have "unusual" styling, the Echo and Scion XB being two.
Others, like the Corolla, have more mainstream styling. Neither,
IMHO, is inherently beautiful or ugly.
Styles also come and go. Rounded or angular, tall or short, big
square tail lights vs little round ones, bright colors or not, on and
on.
My 85 Corolla, 35 mpg, gets me back and forth to work every day. At
$8k new that's $33 a month in car payments - now that's a beautiful
car!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: 2005 Avalon |

So everyone gets $5k off a Taurus? Got news for you. The Civic and Corolla
are still the better deals. I owned 2 91 Taurus's and the first thing you
have to do is add in the cost of an extended warranty and maybe an extra car
to drive when the Ford is in the shop.

The new Avalon looks nothing like the picture posted on the internet. It looks more like a 7 Series BMW, rather odd for conservative Toyota. >> Stay informed about: 2005 Avalon |
