I had a seal leaking from the tranny to the driveshaft on my 2004
Duramax/Allison. 52,000 miles on her. It was $119.00 to replace other
than that she's perfect.

Was that not covered under warranty?

It was under my extended warranty I paid for which is a $200 deductible.
I have 53,000 on it now the Chevy has a 36K warranty on everything but
the motor it's 100K Don't know about the tail bushing?

Is yours the GMC factory extended warranty? If so, keep in mind that the
$200 deductible is per incident, not per component. For example, when
your truck starts to fall apart you could conceivably have simultaneous
problems with a power window, a bad sensor, the air conditioning, a
power seat and the CD player.

In this unlikely scenario, if you were able to combine these 5 warranty
claims into one visit to the dealership, you would pay a $200 deductible
for all of these defective components and the deductible would not have
to be paid again if any of these components failed again.

Multiple component failures are usually the result of one failed
component causing the failure of others. For example, a failed water
pump could cause damage to the engine as well as the transmission. In my
truck, I discovered my leaking rack and pinion assembly before a low
fluid level destroyed my power steering pump. Under warranty, the power
steering pump would have been replaced along with the rack and pinion
assemble had this been necessary.

Thanks for the info. The warranty is through Chevrolet/General Motors
they stuck me $2800 buckaroo's but i'm covered on damn near everything.
they gave me list of what's not covered and bascally that's the items
involved in regular maintenance. hoses, belts etc etc...
