Anyone know where I would find the differences betweens these model years?
From what I can find they are a cookie cutter copy of each other? The 2003s
came standard with a CD player?

Best as I recall, you are right. The last engine change prior to the 997
came in 2002, going from 300 to 325. There may have been some minor styling
changes to the front or rear bumpers...but nothing of substance. Oh...the
factory radios/CD's (supplied by Becker) are simply not very reliable. Even
the ones in the 997 series are flaky. (Ask me how I know.) At least in the
996 series, you can easily replace the "head" unit with virtually any
standard unit.

Regards...

Color coded cowling - I recently purchased a 1968 911 with an upgraded 2.7 liter engine. The engine has green fiberglass cowling which I believe indicates that it is an "S" engine. Am I correct?

Another transmission question - This morning I hopped into my 84' 911 to go to work. It was about 31 degrees Fahrenheit outside, so just a tad brisk to say the least. Anyway, my faithful steed fire right up as always, and off I went. I came to the first stop, and was pretty well..
