The SID should tell you if a remote battery needs changing, but if you
still want to do it, push a jeweler's screwdriver into the little hole
in the side of the key handle whilst levering open the back with a
thin blade. Once the new battery is in, go within range of the car and
press the unlock button four times to re-sync the system.

I haven't noticed any noises like that on mine. In my experience, if
exhaust heat shielding rattles, then it tends to resonate at certain
engine revs, rather than responding to bumpy roads. I guess it'll be a
matter of getting under the car and looking for loose stuff.
