Please keep your ads off of the newsgroup. If we wanted to buy a truck,
we'd buy a newspaper, go to craigslist, ebay or another website that
sells trucks.

What makes you think that it was written to him?

The Windstar is a van, which is a type of truck. Here is the link to the
sales report for March 2007, which includes another van, the Freestar as
a truck. Considering that Ford knows more about what is a truck or car
than you or I, I side with Ford on this.

<http://www.ford.com/about-ford/news-announcements/press-releases/press-releases-detail/pr-ford26rsquos-focus-and-edge-buck-27952>

Even Motor Trend's Truck Trend covers minivans.

I think it is important to remember that minivans are trucks, because
trucks have different safety requirements and handling characteristics
than cars.

"Please keep YOUR ads off the newsgroups" make me think it was written to
him.... The Windstar is a mini-van... Ford does not consider it to be a
truck.. Ford DOES consider it to be a mini-van and it shares some of it's
platform with the Taurus (which isn't a truck, either).

I would suggest that, as a Ford certified Master technician, I might have a
bit of a clue as to what Ford calls a truck and what they don't.

FWIW... Motor Trend is in the business of selling magazines... They will go
to great lengths to coax $4.95 out of your pocket.

Yet it lists sales of minivans with trucks.

Ahhh, I get the picture now... I bow to your vast knowledge and Motor Trends
influence.... In the mean time, I can only be glad that the travesty known
as the Windstar has been replaced by other ventures into the "truck"
marketplace.... Trucks like the Taurus X????

Because it is a truck? And because that way Ford doesn't have to
bring it up to the same emissions and safety standards as a "car"?
