Post subject: 2001 325ci convertible key issue
Archived from groups: alt>autos>bmw (more info?)

Our BMW came with the electronic key option where there are buttons to lock
and unlock the doors and unlock the trunk. Wife tried her key and it
wouldn't unlock the door or open the trunk. I tried it after she got home
and it worked fine. A second key we have stored at home also worked fine.
Thought the battery might be bad in the key but then noticed in the service
manual that the key has a rechargeable battery and never needs replacing.

Anybody have this problem or have any suggestions. She is using the second
key that never showed problems but we are still not sure what the story was
with the key failure.

Thanks for any replies

Vito
