Today while driving at around 45 mph the Ram began to buck (8 cyl ,gas ,auto
4x4, 43000 miles), then the check engine light came on so I pulled over .
When I restarted an hour later she ran fine. It was raining when it first
happened. Any ideas ? I did spray the ignition wires with water when I got
home but it seemed ok.

Thanks in advance

Spray em again, because that may be what it is, was the lite just one or was
it flashing?

You may have something telling the computer to disengage the clutch
lockup. When it does it again touch the brake pedal lightly and see
if it stops. An EGR malfunction can cause this. Check for any stored
codes.

The check engine light was steady if my memory serves me right, but I can't
honestly remember.Would it make a diff? I will have my garage check the
codes on Monday. I will let you guys know what happens.

My mechanic didn't find any stored codes, but he did respray the ignition
wires and found the rear wire ,nearest passenger seat arcing.

I have a 2001 ram 2500 that was bucking at 45 mph and the engine light came on.I hade it tested and they told me that cylinder number six was misfiring.I replaced the spark plugs with double platinum champion plugs. replaced the wires, distributor cap and rotor. The light went off immediately and the bucking was gone. The truck also regained a lot of power.I would change wires, plugs, cap and rotor.I'm glad i did!
