1994 Maxima Won't start than one day later it will

I have a 1994 Nissan Maxima. Three times now I have went out to the car
to start it and it won't start. I can hear the fuel pump cycle. I will
leave it alone and come back the next day and it will start fine.
Anythoughts? Fuel injection system? No spark to the plugs?

I have an 94 altima. It began doing the same thing, but I noticed that it wouldn't start really early in the morning or late at night when it was cold. I could hear it turning over, but it just wouldn't start. I finally took it to MIDAS which I won't ever do again because they are so expensive and the worst part of it all was I didn't get that feeling of trusting them as mechanics. Anyway, they told me if was the fuel pump that for some reason didn't want to pump when it was cold. I asked what the cause of that was, was the fuel pump very old or what might cause that. They said they didn't know why it was doing that, not even an educated guess, from the masters of cars? Anyway, it cost me around 800 for everything, but the car starts now all the time.
