I have a 1987 cadillac deville, on Saturday my husband was trying to fix the window track of the drivers side so he had the door open for a few hours while he took the door apart.. (he was unable to fix the window) The next day I noticed the battery light was lit and it said "no charge" but it was driving fine, then it died... My husband jumped it and let it run for a little while and it died out. so Today (monday) I went out and got a new battery and the car started up perfectly but that damn battery light is still lit and saying "no charge"...
Does that light tell me that it is the Alternator that is bad?
does any of these problems have anything to do with the door being left open while my husband was working on the window?
Is there another reason why I would be having the light problem?
this is my only car and if it cost to much to repair then it will have to be taken away and I am left without anything :O( ...
this is probably a silly Q but i have to ask, to replace my alternator it has to be an 87 cadillac deville right, i cant go and use an 85 cadillac or anything like that can i?
