1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible

My daily driver has electric windows. The driver side window control switch is "stuck", not elevating in the up/down position. All other window switches work. If I pressure the driver window switch at a specific angle, it may work at times. Do I need to replace the entire switch assembly for window operability, or just the one in question? Anyway, if this driver side switch is bad, does the entire door panel have to come off to replace the bad part? I have owned my pride and joy for 9 years, now an issue. I am not an electronically inclined owner. Please provide the sequence to access the switch panel to repair or ?????? Thanks, Sandy
