2002 taurus, started @ 18 mpg now down to 14 mpg...

Hell I even inflated the tires to the proper amount...they WERE all 10
pounds low at the BETTER mpg?

Maybe I should slap a Obama/Biden stick on my car to improve my MPG???

hmm..
I think this is some supernatural power and I am jinxed

14 mpg is pretty pathetic for such a small car. My 91 Crown Vic with the
5.0l V8 gets 17 mpg on a bad week. On a good week I can get 21 mpg. A good
week means I accelerate *very* slowly, never exceed the speed limit, and
even let my speed drop a little below the speed limit as I go up long hills.
But with gas prices this low, I'm not driving that slow and am getting about
18 mpg.

There should be something wrong with your car. Is the check engine light
on? Time for new plugs, cap and rotor? Air filter, fuel filter, oil and
filter all new? Maybe it's running rich due to a dead sensor or something.

Have you checked to see if the PCV valve is plugged?

You might have some frozen brake calipers. Is your check engine light
working? Bad sensors could cause a rich fuel mixture. Is the
odometer accurate?
For comparison, my 99 Taurus wagon with 3.0 still gets about 27
highway. It looks like finding a good mechanic would be a good
investment in your case.
