He just does not understand that his rear wiper is a standard blade it
attaches like all new blades all he needs is to find a 13 or 14 inch blade
at WalMart it will fit trust me and it's as cheap as you will find. >> Stay informed about: '06 Rio 5 Rear wiper |

And what you do not understand is that I WENT to Wal-Mart, bought the
blade, and when I removed the original, realized it was NOT the same as
the replacement. Not even close. It is NOT standard. The front two
blades WERE standard, and I was able to easily replace them. I stated
that in my original message.
If this group is not the place to get simple replacement parts questions
answered, where SHOULD I be posting? >> Stay informed about: '06 Rio 5 Rear wiper |

Very simply, you are incorrect.
I went to an auto store, looked up the size - 13" - Purchased the
replacement blade, as well as the two for the front.
I got home, EASILY replaced the front two blades, and moved to the rear.
That blade came off differently, and was similar, but NOT THE SAME as
the front. The hook-shaped "stem" on which the blade is mounted was a
different thickness. The replacement blade would NOT fit. >> Stay informed about: '06 Rio 5 Rear wiper |

Thank you. I appreciate your response.
I started this out as a simple question with no quibbling. I found
myself being treated like a bleeding idiot for suggesting what you have
just confirmed.
I'll stop by the local dealer and have him order me a new blade.

Where, I ask, exactly WHERE did I imply that I couldn't read a simple
set of instructions?
Ok, for those of you that have one or two nagging little questions:
1) I noticed my rear wiper was streaking.
2) I inspected it and found that the rubber had pulled away from the
support structure of the blade. 3) I decided it needed replacement.
4) I went to Wal-Mart and looked up the correct sizes and options.
5) I decided to replace all three wipers.
6) I selected my three new blades.
7) I took them up front and paid for them.
 I drove home.
9) I opened and installed the front two blades.
10) I opened the package for the rear blade.
11) I reviewed the contents.
12) I read the instructions.
13) I removed the original blade.
14) I realized the new one WOULD NOT FIT.
15) I tried it anyway - IT WOULD NOT FIT. No adapters would make up the
difference. The supporting arm is thicker.
16) I came into the house.
17) I posted my original question.
You say you're a Santa Fe owner. Well, a Santa Fe is NOT a RIO 5.
Just because you think I am an idiot doesn't mean you have to prove to
everyone that -YOU- are. >> Stay informed about: '06 Rio 5 Rear wiper |
