Post subject: 03 silverado warning light

My brother just bought an 03 silverado and a warning light came on.
The light looks like a car with a pad lock. It shows the light in the
manual on the dashboard, but couldn't find anything in the text about
it. Does anyone know what it is?

Security light......likely the Passlock system is throwing an error code.
This is often the ignition lock cylinder or the BCM and should be looked at.
It has the potential to disable the vehicle if left. Check for specific
OBDII codes with a code reader.
